Africa - Gethsemane International:
Gethsemane International exists to rescue orphans from poverty and create godly homes for them. All children need a loving mother and
father to teach them the truth of Jesus Christ. Our philosophy is based on the Biblical model of family.
We follow God's blueprint for raising godly adults. We are committed to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
It is the only message of love and truth that is able to provide lasting hope to children who were once orphans without hope.
Gethsemane International is not an orphanage or an institution. We create homes.
Our homes provide a set of godly home parents and a number of siblings. The children learn about love, responsibility, kindness, confidence, and acceptance by being a part of a real family structure.
Gethsemane provides a permanet solution to the plight of poverty. We invest holistically into our children's care by providing education, teaching practical life-skills, and nurturing both emotional and physical health. We recognize that nothing is more permanent or eternal than the love of Jesus Christ for the children who were without hope.

Philippines - The Spiritual Need in Filipino Churches:
With over a third of its population living below the poverty line, hunger is a serious threat in the Philippines.
But an even greater danger lurks: spiritual starvation. In a country whose roots in various false religions go back
centuries, and where indigenous cults are expanding globally, many evangelical pastors are inadequately trained to
teach and preach the Word of God. Pastors are to equip the saints for the work
of service. But when pastors themselves are ill-equipped for ministry due to a lack of training, congregations suffer
and become vulnerable to various winds of doctrine and trickeries of men. The body of Christ becomes malnourished,
starving for spiritual sustenance that is possible only through the clear and accurate preaching of the Word of
God. This is the situation of the church in the Philippines. The Body of Christ is starving for the Word of God!
Training Local Pastors:
Crucial for the health of the church are trained pastors who can equip others. This is the heartbeat of our ministry
in the Philippines. As a member of The Master’s Academy International association of training ministries,
The Expositor’s Academy (TEA) of which we are members is dedicated to training ministers of God to develop the
tools necessary to accurately interpret, obey, teach and preach the Word of God to His people while also establishing
discipleship relationships with them.
Learning Tagalog:
A major focus of our family is learning the language of Tagalog. Meredith, Will, Kim and Vincent take regular
lessons. It continues to be very challenging and rewarding as we are beginning to converse with people and understand
what is spoken around us. Learning Tagalog helps in the training process of pastors.
Family News:
It has been exciting for us to witness the answers to so many prayers for our move and beginning
ministry in the Philippines. It has drawn us closer as a family. Kim continues to homeschool the children. The focus
for our family has been to build relationships within our church and neighborhood. Frequently the neighborhood
children stop by our place for snacks and are willing to practice some Tagalog. The children have made the
adjustment well and we rejoice in future ministry that we can do as a family.
